Job summary

ENPICOM BV is seeking a Machine Learning Scientist to join the Bioinformatics & AI team in the Netherlands. You will develop ML models to speed discovery and optimization of therapeutic antibodies and deploy them as reliable tools on the ENPICOM platform.

The role blends solving a scientific problem with ensuring practical, scalable execution. You will expand AI capabilities with agent-based tools and collaborate with ML scientists, bioinformaticians, and software engineers, growing skills in

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in machine learning, computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology or related field.
• Experience applying ML to real problems in industry or academia.
• Solid Python skills and PyTorch experience.
• Good grasp of statistics, model evaluation, baselines and uncertainty.
• Interest in biology and antibody-related problems.
• Good software habits: version control, readable code and testing.
• Clear English communication and collaborative attitude.
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands and able to come to the office 1–2 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, adapt, and train deep learning models for antibody engineering tasks.
• Compare published and in-house models on our data and decide which to bring to the platform.
• Turn promising models into robust, tested services: packaging, versioning, monitoring, and long-term maintenance.
• Help build AI features on the ENPICOM platform, including agent-based tools that connect models and analyses.
• Design sound experiments and use statistics to check where a model works or fails.
• Collaborate with bioinformaticians and scientists to explain results to non-specialists.
• Stay up-to-date with new ML methods for proteins and antibodies and share learnings.
• Mentor junior colleagues and interns to grow skills.
