Are you excited by the idea of shaping the app experience for more than a million mobile users? Step into a key role at Budget Thuis as our next Android Developer and help drive the quality, stability, and future of our app.

At Budget Thuis, creativity, technical depth, and a proactive mindset really matter. We’re looking for someone who brings both skill and vision, someone who’s eager to take ownership of a dedicated part of the application and guide it end to end through the full Software Development Life Cycle. You’ll join our in‑house App Development team of two Android and two iOS developers, collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and testers to keep communication tight and our app experience sharp.

In this role, you’ll build new features, tackle bugs, and keep our codebase healthy. You’ll also act as a coach and mentor within the team, helping others grow while influencing our technical direction. With your strong communication chops, you’ll naturally become a bridge between business and engineering, as well as across front‑end and back‑end teams. For someone who enjoys ownership and impact, this role also offers a clear path to grow into a Chapter Lead position, shaping not just the product but the people and practices around it.

Your responsibilities

• Develop new features, fix bugs, and maintain the Budget Thuis mobile application;
• Act as a coach and mentor for the other (Android) developers;
• Act as a key liaison between business and technology, fostering effective communication;
• Collaborate closely with front‑end and back‑end teams to ensure cohesive development;
• Contribute thoughts and ideas to the broader vision of Budget Thuis.

What do you bring?

• +4 years of relevant work experience with mobile development;
• In-depth knowledge of Android SDK and Kotlin;
• Experience with Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines and Flow;
• Solid understanding of OOP principles and Android's most used architectural patterns like MVVM;
• You’re a strong communicator who enjoys talking directly to the business stakeholders and is not afraid to make decisions;
• You thrive on new projects and are a strong team player.
