Job summary

Podimo is seeking a BI Engineer to join the data platform team. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, analytics engineers, and data engineers to deliver scalable data models, dashboards, and self-serve solutions that empower decision making across the company.

You will work with dbt, SQL, BigQuery, and Looker/LookML to transform data sources, optimize costs, and develop AI-ready analytics that enable AI-powered insights while improving data quality and governance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in BI, data or analytics engineering in fast-paced environments.
• Proven SQL, dbt, BigQuery, and Looker analytics experience.
• Experience building self-serve data models for AI-enabled analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the company-wide data platform and self-service BI tools.
• Collaborate with analytics engineers, data engineers, and business teams to model data and build dashboards.

Job description

• In this role, you’ll join our BI team, which is responsible for developing and maintaining our company-wide data platform. The team works across the entire organisation to enable data-driven decision-making and automation at scale
• You will be collaborating with business teams, analytics engineers, and data engineers to bring scalable, reliable, and efficient data models, BI interfaces, and self-service solutions to life, while making our data AI‑ready and enabling the adoption of AI‑powered analytics
• Work closely with business teams, data analysts, and AI engineers to understand their needs and translate those into effective data solutions
• Utilize dbt, SQL, BigQuery, and Looker/LookML to transform and model both new and existing data sources
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and self-service tools that enable business stakeholders to gain insights and make data-driven decisions
• Drive AI-assisted workflows within the AE function, including agentic development and LLM context management for the dbt repository
• Build and maintain a robust semantic layer with clear metric definitions and documentation to enable reliable AI-powered analytics
• Optimize warehouse efficiency by managing BigQuery costs and implementing effective partitioning and incremental processing strategies
• Provide data modeling expertise to additional team and department members through code reviews and pairing to help deliver optimal and scalable designs and queries
• Promote the adoption of AI solutions and interfaces by educating business users and data developers on their usage
