Job summary

Tiqets is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join its data platform and help govern data quality across the organization. You will design, build, and maintain dbt models powering behavioral analytics and the event-tracking pipeline, processing high-volume clickstream data daily.

You will collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Product/Business stakeholders to ensure data quality, governance, and impactful insights. Amsterdam-based role in a fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Data or Analytics Engineer on data-intensive applications.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with dbt for data modeling and transformation.
• Proven track record with a modern cloud data warehouse (Databricks/Redshift/Snowflake/BigQuery).
• Experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tool.
• Proficiency in Python and BI tooling like Looker.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration abilities.
• Based in the Netherlands/EU or able to relocate.

Tiqets is hiring an Analytics Engineer to join its mission to bring the world more ways to culture.

The Analytics Engineering Team is the critical link between Data and Business teams. You'll work closely with Data Engineers and Data Analysts, and help guide the company's approach to data governance as it matures.

As an Analytics Engineer, you will be the guardian of the data ecosystem, ensuring that data is not only available but high-quality, performant, and strictly governed.

What you will do

You’ll be a strategic partner to Product Managers, Engineers, and the Business. You will design, build, and maintain dbt models powering behavioral analytics and the event-tracking pipeline, one of the largest and most actively used parts of the data platform, processing high-volume clickstream data daily.

• Own and improve analytical data modeling practices across projects
• Help evolve the data governance framework by improving governance projects, ranging from data compliance to access control
• Monitor and optimize the performance of dbt pipelines and Looker infrastructure, proactively identifying automation and cost-efficiency opportunities
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and stakeholders across teams to keep modeling standards consistent and well understood
• Review code within analytics projects to help the team maintain best practices as it grows
• Contribute to improving data infrastructure, from pipeline health to Looker usage
• Get to the bottom of data issues, determine root causes, and build solutions that resolve them permanently, not just patch symptoms
• Contribute to initiatives for unlocking AI in analytical and reporting processes (DWH/BI Tooling)

Responsibilities

• Deep dive into large business datasets to uncover valuable insights that can be turned into actionable hypotheses
• Work with Product Managers, Developers, Marketeers, and Commercial Specialists to determine and measure the right metrics in their respective domains
• Keep a close eye on the ever-changing data challenges at Tiqets, and collaborate closely with Strategic Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and other Data Analysts on the team to solve them
• Educate and empower others at the company to be more self-reliant for their data needs
• Mentor others in the team with technical guidance
• Collaborate on the architectural evolution of the Tiqets data model and reporting framework

What you will bring

• 3+ years of experience working as a Data or Analytics Engineer on data-intensive applications
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with dbt for data modeling and transformation
• Proven track record of working with a modern cloud data warehouse like Databricks, Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery
• Experience with Apache Airflow or a comparable orchestration tool
• Python proficiency, with a track record of writing clean, maintainable code
• Experience with Looker or a comparable BI/semantic-layer tool
• Experience with cross-functional and cross-team collaboration, with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Capacity to thrive in a scale-up environment, pragmatic attitude, ability to work independently, collaborate effectively with others, and take ownership of your work
• Living in the Netherlands/EU

Nice to have

• Experience with data access control and masking patterns in dbt
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and regulatory compliance considerations (e.g., GDPR, SOX, PCI DSS) as they apply to data platforms and data warehouses
• Curiosity about data observability and lineage tooling
