Job summary

Flow Traders is strengthening its Research Engineering leadership with an Engineering Manager role based in Amsterdam. You will lead a team of engineers and researchers, shaping career paths, promotions, and performance while delivering on the research platform roadmap.

You will partner with Trading and Quant teams to translate requirements into delivery plans, manage risks, and drive team velocity in a fast-moving trading environment.

Qualifications

• Strong people-leadership skills and ability to coach and develop engineers.
• Experience building roadmaps, sequencing work, and managing dependencies and risks.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap: manage priorities, planning, and sequencing of the work in line with company goals.
• Develop your engineers: career planning, promotions, coaching, and structured performance management.
• Plan and build the team: lead hiring, headcount planning, and resource allocation.
• Cultivate a healthy team: manage culture, morale, and productivity; address conflict early.
• Lead with rhythm: conduct regular one-on-ones; provide timely feedback; invest in team building.
• Translate requirements into delivery plans; identify dependencies and risks early.
• Act as liaison between Engineering, Trading, and Quant teams to design and roll out new products.
• Drive delivery predictability: track progress and report status to stakeholders.
• Continuously improve delivery processes and team velocity.
• Ensure alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
