Job summary

Flatpay Netherlands is seeking a Junior Accountant to support financial operations in Amsterdam. You will report to the Senior Accountant Netherlands and help ensure accurate Dutch financial statements, VAT compliance, and timely invoicing and payments.

You are ambitious, proactive and a team player who can handle multiple priorities in a fast-growing fintech. You should have a solid accounting foundation, familiarity with Dutch tax rules and proficiency in Excel; knowledge of Business Central

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Experience with accounts receivable and invoicing.
• Experience with accounts payable and ensuring correct records of expenses.
• Hands‑on, proactive and able to adapt in a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of the Dutch financial statements together with the Finance Lead Netherlands.
• Support the preparation of VAT (BTW) returns and help ensure compliance with Belastingdienst requirements and Dutch tax regulations.
• Handle customer invoicing and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
• Process accounts payable, reimbursements and card expenses timely and in line with Dutch regulation, including correct VAT and WKR treatment.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations and audits.
• Help improve finance systems and processes as we scale.
• This role will grow with the Dutch business, offering the opportunity to take on more responsibility over time.
