Job summary

Yusen Logistics at Schiphol-Rijk is seeking an Air Import Specialist to own shipments from arrival to final delivery. You will coordinate air import operations, prepare documentation, and keep customers and partners informed.

The role requires experience in air freight forwarding and knowledge of customs procedures; you will work with colleagues across Operations, Customer Service and Sales in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in air freight forwarding, preferably in import.
• Knowledge of customs procedures and international freight documentation.
• Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
• A structured and accurate way of working.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor air import shipments from arrival to final delivery.
• Arrange domestic and international transport.
• Prepare and maintain shipment and customs-related documentation.
• Process and manage shipment data in our operational systems.
• Maintain daily contact with customers, airlines, agents, carriers and our international offices.
• Keep customers proactively informed about shipment status and possible delays.
• Handle operational issues, exceptions and claims.
• Ensure shipments comply with relevant quality and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with colleagues across Operations, Customer Service and Sales.
• Support export operations when needed.

As an Air Import Specialist, you coordinate air freight import shipments from arrival through to final delivery. You keep shipments moving, ensure documentation is accurate and keep customers and partners informed throughout the process.

Your Responsibilities at Air Import Specialist:

• Coordinate and monitor air import shipments from arrival to final delivery
• Arrange domestic and international transport
• Prepare and maintain shipment and customs-related documentation
• Process and manage shipment data in our operational systems
• Maintain daily contact with customers, airlines, agents, carriers and our international offices
• Keep customers proactively informed about shipment status and possible delays
• Handle operational issues, exceptions and claims
• Ensure shipments comply with relevant quality and regulatory requirements
• Work closely with colleagues across Operations, Customer Service and Sales
• Support export operations when needed

Your Profile at Air Import Specialist:

• Experience in air freight forwarding, preferably in import
• MBO working and thinking level
• Knowledge of customs procedures and international freight documentation
• Experience with customs declarations is a plus
• Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• A structured and accurate way of working
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• A proactive, flexible and customer-focused mindset
