Job summary

Awesome Compliance Technology BV in Amsterdam seeks a hands-on AI engineer to help build Coco AI, the assistant that helps compliance professionals interpret regulations, run assessments, maintain registers, and collaborate with clients.

You will prototype quickly, work on RAG pipelines, embeddings, and data privacy challenges, and collaborate with compliance experts to turn rules into AI-usable knowledge graphs & tasks.

Qualifications

• Strong Python/ML frameworks experience in real-world projects.
• Hands-on with large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic, local models).
• Experience with data pipelines, embeddings, retrieval, and evaluation.
• Familiar with agentic AI systems and knowledge graphs in practice.
• Understanding of data privacy constraints in ML.
• Ability to ship end-to-end AI solutions with users.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve our agentic layer to perform a growing set of tasks.
• Work on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with vector DBs.
• Address real-world AI challenges: hallucinations, bias, explainability, privacy.
• Collaborate with compliance experts to convert rules into AI-usable knowledge graphs & tasks.
• Prototype quickly, test with users, and scale what works.

What you’ll do

• Build and improve our agentic layer to do a growing range of tasks, reliably and effortlessly.

• Prototype fast, test with users, and scale what works.

What we’re looking for

• Strong in Python + ML/AI frameworks.
• You’ve shipped something with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, local models, doesn’t matter, you’ve been in the trenches).
• Comfortable with data pipelines, embeddings, retrieval, and evaluation.
• You’re pragmatic: you know when to hack with APIs and when to build something custom.
• Curious about legal & compliance, you don’t need to be a lawyer, but you care about automating complex legal decision-making.
• You’ve built AI assistants and agentic systems.
• You’ve touched explainability / evaluation tooling.
• You’ve dealt with data privacy constraints in ML before.
