Job summary

Allianz Partners seeks an Engineering Manager (AI) within Advanced Analytics to lead AI engineering teams building agent-based and voice/conversational AI services that integrate with our digital insurance products.

You will own people management, performance, hiring, resourcing, and delivery leadership, while senior engineers handle technical decisions. You will shape team structure, capacity, and ways of working to ship applied AI into production.

Qualifications

8+ years engineering experience with at least 3 years in people management leading applied AI, ML, or conversational AI delivery teams.
Track record managing 6 to 15 engineers across at least two distinct teams or specialisations.
Strong technical literacy in the AI stack to mentor but not override leads: prompt engineering, NLU/NLP, and Kubernetes-based deployment.
Experience running structured hiring at scale for AI roles and implementing performance frameworks.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow AI engineering teams: hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and career development.
Balance capacity across agent-based and voice surfaces in response to demand from domain teams.
Coordinate with backend/frontend leads on integration and delivery patterns for AI services.
Run interview rubrics and calibration for AI roles aligned with applied‑AI delivery models.
