Job summary

Syngenta Vegetable Seeds is seeking an R&D Analytics - AI Developer to build scalable software for analyzing experimental and operational data in Vegetable R&D. The role blends software engineering with applied AI and domain science to deliver decision-support tools.

You will work with R&D scientists and analytics teams to translate needs into production-ready solutions using AI platforms while ensuring governance and deployment reliability.

Qualifications

• Master or PhD in Data Science, AI, CS, Quantitative Genetics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years building/maintaining production Python systems.
• Familiarity with AI and ML frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Agentic AI and large language models.
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end software solutions.
• Strong Python programming and software engineering skills.
• Experience with big data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks).
• Experience deploying ML models in production and cloud-native apps (AWS).
• Experience with API technologies (REST/GraphQL).
• Experience developing software for scientific/R&D/agricultural domains.
• Familiarity with responsible AI practices and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines for ML models and analytics.
• Create analytic software and AI solutions integrating R&D data/models.
• Containerization/orchestration in a cloud environment.
• Manage deployment/config in non-prod and prod.
• Collaborate with scientists and data teams to convert needs into software.
• Leverage AI coding assistants to improve productivity and quality.
• Explore emerging AI capabilities to enhance analytics and decision support.
• Ensure solutions are explainable, reliable in production, and compliant.
