Job summary

TU Delft's Industrial Design Engineering (IDE) faculty invites applications for an Assistant Professor focusing on design processes, methods, and practices in relation to emerging technologies such as AI. The candidate will advance research and education on how designers generate, develop, and evaluate ideas under the uncertainty and complexity created by AI.

Qualifications

• PhD in design-related field required or demonstrated engagement with design research, practice, and education.
• Strong research profile in design processes, methods and AI in design; publications in peer-reviewed venues.
• Ability to work across disciplinary boundaries and engage with multiple stakeholders.
• Teaching experience in higher education, project-based courses, and possibly a teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to research and education on design processes, methods, and practices in relation to emerging technologies such as AI.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, economists, and social scientists, and external partners to advance perspectives on design practices.
• Supervise BSc and MSc projects and contribute to Bachelor and Master programmes related to design processes and creativity.
• Engage in grant writing, program development, and academic service within the department.
