Job summary

Delft University of Technology in Delft invites applications for an Assistant Professor focused on design processes and practices in relation to emerging technologies like AI. The role integrates research and education within the IDE, encouraging collaboration with designers, engineers, economists and social scientists and external partners to develop perspectives on design processes and practices.

You will contribute to Bachelor and Master programmes, supervise projects, and help students

Qualifications

• PhD in a design-related field.
• Strong research profile in design processes, design methods and methodology, and AI in design.
• Teaching experience in higher education, including project-based courses; teaching qualification is an asset.
• Excellent command of English; Dutch language skills are an asset.
• Ability to cross disciplinary boundaries and engage with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and education on design processes, methods and AI-related design decisions.
• Collaborate with IDE colleagues and external partners across industry, government and society.
• Supervise BSc and MSc projects and contribute to development of designers as strategic, reflective and creative actors.
