Job summary

Metyis is growing! We are looking for an AI Architect with 3-5 years of experience for a full-time position to join our Data & Analytics team in Amsterdam.

In this role you will design scalable AI and data platforms, work across cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and applied AI, and collaborate with stakeholders across an international organization. Fluency in English and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, data engineering, IT architecture, or a closely related field.
• Experience with AI/ML concepts such as model serving, data pipelines and APIs.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (Azure, AWS or GCP), with Azure and/or Databricks being a plus.
• Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring tools.
• Understanding of data architecture concepts, including data warehouses, data lakes, data pipelines, and data governance.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience in international, consulting, or scale-up environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure technical foundations for AI solutions.
• Work closely with data, IT, and business stakeholders to understand technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
• Support the design and implementation of AI applications, data pipelines, and cloud-based solutions, following established architectural principles and best practices.
• Contribute to technical specifications and documentation, follow up on development activities, and support testing and acceptance activities.
• Support the integration, deployment, and scaling of AI systems across relevant technology environments.
• Monitor the performance, reliability, and cost of AI infrastructure and applications, identifying issues and supporting their resolution.
• Participate in technical discussions and project governance forums, clearly communicating technical topics, progress, and potential risks.
• Identify technical challenges and risks during delivery and work with senior team members to develop appropriate solutions and mitigation strategies.
• Continuously develop knowledge of emerging AI, cloud, data, and infrastructure technologies and share relevant learnings with the wider team.

What you will bring

• 3-5 years of professional experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, data engineering, IT architecture, or a closely related field, with exposure to AI/ML technologies and platforms.

• Good understanding of AI and ML components, such as model serving, data pipelines, vector databases, APIs, and orchestration frameworks.

• Hands-on experience working with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP), with experience in Azure and/or Databricks being a plus.

• Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker and/or Kubernetes), and monitoring tools.

• Understanding of data architecture concepts, including data warehouses, data lakes, data pipelines, and data governance.

• Experience contributing to the design, development, deployment, or integration of cloud-based AI and data solutions.

• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work systematically to ensure solution quality, reliability, and performance.

• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Comfortable working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and taking ownership of assigned deliverables.

• Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving and delivery.

• Fluency in English.

• Experience in international, consulting, or scale-up environments is a plus.
