Placements24 is seeking an experienced Agricultural Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day farming activities in Paarl. You will supervise a team of farmworkers, coordinate planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control, and ensure safe, efficient operations to maximize yields.

The role requires strong knowledge of crop production cycles and ability to manage machinery, with focus on safety, records, and continuous improvement. Accommodation is provided near the farm.

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and organized Agricultural Operations Supervisor to lead the day-to-day management of their farming activities in Paarl . This hands‑on role is essential for ensuring the smooth execution of planting, cultivation, pest control, and harvesting operations. You will supervise a team of farmworkers, coordinate resource allocation, and ensure that all activities are conducted efficiently and safely, adhering to company standards and agricultural best practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in maximizing crop yields and maintaining the high operational standards of the farm.

Key Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and manage a team of farm laborers engaged in various agricultural tasks.
• Coordinate the scheduling and execution of planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control activities.
• Ensure the efficient use of farm machinery and equipment, overseeing basic maintenance and operation.
• Monitor crop development and field conditions, reporting any issues or deviations from the plan to management.
• Implement and enforce health and safety regulations on the farm to ensure a secure working environment.
• Maintain accurate records of labor, inputs, activities, and yields.

Requirements

• Proven experience in agricultural operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Solid understanding of crop production cycles, common agricultural practices, and pest/disease identification.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of farmworkers effectively.
• Familiarity with operating and maintaining agricultural machinery.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
