Job summary

g2 Recruitment invites a Freelance Agentic AI Engineer to design autonomous agents and orchestration systems for multiple automation projects. You will deploy agents that plan tasks, use tools and APIs, retrieve information, and collaborate with other agents across multi-step workflows.

Remote engagement with initial project scope and potential for ongoing collaboration; strong emphasis on production-ready agent architectures and multi-agent coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience building autonomous AI agents and deploying them to production.
• Hands-on with LangGraph, CrewAI or AutoGen.
• Strong understanding of OpenAI APIs, tool calls and orchestration.
• Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol).
• Experience with vector databases and retrieval systems.

• Design and develop autonomous agents for customer support, research, coding and workflow automation

About the job

We are looking for a Freelance Agentic AI Specialist to design and build autonomous agent systems for a range of our business automation projects.

The role is focused on developing agents that can independently plan tasks, use tools and APIs, retrieve and interpret information, collaborate with other agents, and execute multi-step workflows. Initial projects will include customer support, research, coding and operational workflow automation.

You will work across the full agent development lifecycle, from architecture and prototyping through to testing, integration and deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

What you need:

• Proven experience building and deploying autonomous AI agents


• Hands-on experience with LangGraph, CrewAI and/or AutoGen


• Strong understanding of OpenAI APIs, tool/function calling and agent orchestration


• Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol)


• Experience working with vector databases and retrieval systems


• Understanding of multi-agent architectures, RAG, agent memory and state management


• Strong API integration and software engineering skills


• Able to take an ambiguous business problem and turn it into a working agent-based solution


• Experience delivering production-quality systems rather than experimental prototypes


• Strong communication skills and comfortable working independently on freelance projects
