Job summary

SII Netherlands is a fast-growing engineering and consulting company based in Haarlem, focusing on mechanical design, stress analysis, and certification activities for aerospace and high-tech industries.

As a Design Engineer, you will manage the full product development lifecycle from concept to detailed design and industrialization in a demanding aerospace environment, collaborating with stress, systems, certification, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience in mechanical design for aerospace/high-tech industries.
  • Strong knowledge of CATIA V5 and/or SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and certification constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality 3D models and detailed drawings using CATIA and/or SolidWorks.
  • Design aircraft interior components and structural assemblies (metallic/composite).
  • Carry out conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design activities per customer specs.
  • Perform feasibility studies and optimize concepts for cost, weight, and manufacturability.
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles to enable efficient industrialization.
  • Participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR) and provide technical justifications.
  • Coordinate interfaces between systems and stakeholders for integration.
