Job summary

eBay is a global ecommerce leader seeking a software engineer to join the Advertising team with a ~60% backend and 40% frontend focus. You will own critical internal tools and workflows that enhance monetization for sellers and buyers across the platform.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and cross-functional partners to deliver intuitive, high-quality experiences supported by reliable services and APIs for internal users and partner teams.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience building modern web apps with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, React.
• Focus on UX, accessibility, frontend performance, and web security.
• Experience with Node.js, RESTful APIs, and backend integration patterns.
• Experience with testing UI and services, source control, and Agile.
• Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or modular UI frameworks; ad tech exposure is a plus.
• Strong collaboration across functions and geographies, data-informed product development.

Responsibilities

• Own advertising creative components and systems to configure, manage, and operate them.
• Build scalable internal tools and workflow-management systems to improve efficiency.
• Deliver intuitive, performant, accessible, and secure internal apps and APIs.
• Partner with product, design, engineering to deliver end-to-end experiences and iterate.
• Contribute across tech stack with API integration and backend services for frontend needs.
• Improve engineering efficiency via reusable UI components and CI/CD practices.
• Participate in design, code reviews, planning, risk ID and mentoring.
