Fastned, an EV charging leader listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, is hiring an Accounts Payable Accountant in the Netherlands. You will own day-to-day AP across multiple entities, drive accuracy in vendor data, and support month-end close and VAT tasks.

You will interact with various teams and help optimise financial processes. Key requirements include >=3 years AP experience, accounting training, fluency in English and Dutch, and experience with NetSuite and Excel.

• Completed training in accounting or related field.
• Fluency in English and Dutch; ERP experience required.

Responsibilities

• Process PO and non-PO invoices accurately and timely.
• Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
• Process bank statements and monthly AP aging reviews.
• Maintain vendor master data and supporting records.
• Support month-end close, VAT returns, and audits.
• Participate in process improvements and system implementations.

As our Accounts Payable Accountant, you will step in and take ownership of day-to-day AP activities across multiple entities. Thanks to your hands-on experience and solid understanding of AP processes and systems, you can hit the ground running from day one.

Your responsibilities as our Accounts Payable Accountant include but not limited to:

• Process purchase invoices (PO and non PO) in an accurate and timely manner;
• Liaise with internal departments (e.g., Construction Management, Operations, IT) or suppliers to resolve discrepancies;
• Process daily bank statements and perform monthly reviews of the accounts payable aging report;
• Maintain the accuracy of vendor master data;
• Assist in maintaining organised financial records, including sales invoices and accounts receivable documentation;
• Actively participate in process improvement projects and system implementations;
• Reconcile Accounts Payable. Request refund for credit memos or missing invoices.
• Reconcile Account Receivable. Send bi-weekly reminders & follow up on customer question. Support the accounting team with month-end closing activities, VAT return preparation, and documentation for the annual audit;
• Perform other ad-hoc financial tasks as assigned.

Job requirements

You are someone who takes the initiative and takes responsibility for the tasks assigned to you. A keen eye for detail and critical thinking will help you keep our financial records up to date and accurate. You should also meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of 3+ year experience in accounts payable;
• Successfully completed training in accounting or a related field;
• Good understanding of invoice processing, payment procedures, and account reconciliations.
• Fluency in both English and Dutch;
• Experience in ERP systems (experience with NetSuite is a strong plus);
• Good Excel or spreadsheet skills.
• High adaptability to new environments and procedural changes and ability to organise and prioritise a high volume of recurring tasks.
• A proactive and collaborative team member with strong problem-solving skills and service-oriented approach;
• Excellent multitasking and stakeholder management abilities.
