Job summary

TMF Group in the Netherlands is seeking an Accounting Officer to support a diverse portfolio of local and international clients with their financial and tax matters. You will work closely with Legal Officers and report to the Supervisor Accounting, ensuring compliance and accurate financial reporting.

You will maintain accounting records, post journal entries, prepare statutory statements, assist with tax filings, and collaborate with auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline (or equivalent qualification such as ACCA/CPA/ACA).
• Approximately 3–5 years of accounting/finance experience in corporate services environments.
• Knowledge of Dutch GAAP and IFRS; US GAAP knowledge is advantageous.
• Experience with SAP, CaseWare, Dynamics, or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with local and international clients, banks, auditors, tax advisors, notaries, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Manage a portfolio of client entities and act as a primary contact for accounting and financial matters.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and client-specific financial reports.
• Support cash management activities, including banking administration and payment processing.
• Coordinate reporting to regulatory authorities, tax authorities, and other external bodies.
• Collaborate with external auditors and support audit processes.
• Identify and resolve accounting, administrative, and tax-related issues.
• Assist with tax-related filings, including corporate income tax, dividend tax, and VAT where applicable.
• Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of company and client files.
• Monitor compliance with local legislation, client requirements, and internal policies.
• Review timesheets, fee arrangements, draft invoices, and debtor balances for assigned client entities.
• Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and support business growth.
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to special projects and initiatives.

As an Accounting Officer, you will play a key role in supporting a diverse portfolio of local and international clients with their financial, accounting, and tax matters. Key Responsibilities

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ACA).
• Approximately 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or corporate services environments.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards, including Dutch GAAP and IFRS. Knowledge of US GAAP is advantageous.
• Experience preparing financial statements and managing accounting processes for corporate clients.
• Familiarity with accounting and reporting systems such as SAP, CaseWare, Dynamics, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, accounting procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Dutch language skills are highly desirable and would be considered a strong advantage.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Client-focused mindset with excellent stakeholder management abilities.
• Interest in international business environments, financial markets, and corporate structures.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
