Job summary

TMF Group in Amsterdam seeks an Accounting Officer to be the first point of contact for clients on financial, accounting and tax matters, working with the Legal Officer and Supervisor Accounting. You will build long-term client relationships, maintain accurate records, and support audits, regulatory filings and commercial projects.

A Dutch GAAP/IFRS background and fluent English are essential, with 3–5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Financial-administrative degree or equivalent with experience.
• 3-5 years relevant working experience.
• Knowledge of Dutch GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SAP, CaseWare and Dynamics.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with clients and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, bookkeeping, and financial systems.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
• Support treasury, banking, and payment activities.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, lawyers, and regulators.
• Identify and resolve accounting, tax, compliance, and operational issues.
• Maintain complete and accurate client and company records.
• Monitor billing, profitability, fee arrangements, and debtor management.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and TMF Group requirements while supporting business growth and special projects.

As an Accounting Officer, you will be the first point of contact for our clients in the Netherlands for the full range of financial, accounting and tax matters. Together with the Legal Officer, who is responsible for legal and compliance matters, you will be responsible for managing the client relationship under the supervision of the Supervisor Accounting. You will be dedicated to creating a long-term relationship with our clients and business partners and help our clients navigate the complex environment they do business in, taking the interests of all relevant stakeholders at heart. Key Responsibilities

Key Requirements

• Financial-administrative degree (ACCA, CPA, ACA or a Bachelor’s degree SPD, HEAO AA, HEAO BE) or a comparable level achieved through exposure and experience
• Preferably a minimum of 3 - 5 years relevant working experience
• Excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (Dutch GaaP, IFRS and preferably US GaaP)
• Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting and cost control principles
• Good knowledge of SAP, CaseWare and Dynamics
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
• General interest in international financial/capital markets and financial instruments
