Job summary

FincoEnergies in Rotterdam is seeking an Accounting Employee to join the Road & Marine finance team. You will ensure accurate daily financial operations, perform month-end closures, reconciliations, VAT filings and support audits while collaborating across entities and with the FincoEnergies group.

You bring HBO level or equivalent experience, 5+ years in a similar role, strong Dutch and English, advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and experience with Microsoft Business Central and Blue10;

Qualifications

• Higher educational level (HBO) or working level.
• 5+ years of work experience in a similar role.
• Result-driven, proactive and accurate mindset.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Experience preparing VAT returns and month-end closing.
• Strong knowledge of Excel (PivotTables and VLOOKUP).
• Experience with ERP systems - Microsoft Business Central and Blue10.
• Knowledge of fuels or energy trading is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Post invoices to cost centers and manage supplier inquiries.

Join FincoEnergies as Accounting Employee in the Road & Marine division. In this role, you will ensure flawless financial administration across multiple entities and play a key role in accurate and timely reporting. This includes daily financial operations as well as monthly and period-end closing activities, including reconciliations and checks in the accounting system to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting. You will become part of the Road & Marine finance team based in Rotterdam and report directly to the Teamlead Accounting. Together, you will help shape the future of sustainable transport solutions.

Your responsibilities as (senior) Accounting Employee

• Handle daily financial operations: process purchase, sales, and bank transactions, and validate invoices for accuracy.
• Post invoices to the appropriate cost centers, respond to supplier inquiries, and manage internal recharges.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable overdue reporting and follow-up.
• Contribute to month- and year-end close, reporting and audits, including booking accruals, preparation of balance sheet files, assisting in VAT filings and explaining results.
• Coordinate with commercial backoffice and finance departments within the division and the FincoEnergies group.

• Experience with ERP systems - experience with Microsoft Business Central and Blue10 is considered a plus.
• Knowledge of and experience in trading organisations, especially in fuels or energy, is a significant plus.
