Job summary

ParkBee, a fast-growing European parking tech company, seeks an Accountant to own transactional accounting, ledgers, reconciliations and VAT across Dutch and UK entities. You’ll support month-end closes and audit prep while driving process automation.

You will collaborate with the Senior Financial Controller, CFO and external partners, ensuring accurate financial reporting and scalable operations in a hybrid, in-person environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or a related field.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial administration or a junior financial control role.
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping, general ledger, reconciliations and month-end closing.
• Experience with accounts payable, payments, accruals, intercompany accounting and VAT preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems; Exact or Xero a plus.
• Tech-savvy with interest in automation, AI and process optimisation.
• Analytical, accurate, detail-oriented with personal responsibility.
• Hands-on, pragmatic, proactive; able to work independently and managing priorities.
• Fluent in English; comfortable in international environment.

Responsibilities

• Payment and Revenue Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts, PSP settlements and parking revenue flows.
• Closing and Reporting: Perform month-end and year-end closings, balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
• Compliance and Audit: Support VAT returns, internal reporting and audit preparations.
• Process Automation: Analyse datasets and automate repetitive tasks to scale finance ops.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with Senior Financial Controller, CFO, payment providers and external advisors.

Role Overview

As an Accountant at ParkBee, you will work closely with our Senior Financial Controller to keep our daily international finance operations running smoothly. ParkBee is a fast-growing European technology company transforming the way people park in cities, and you will help us professionalise our Finance function as we continue to scale. You will take ownership of transactional accounting, from accounts payable and general ledger maintenance to the reconciliation of parking revenues and payment settlements.

You will also play a key part in month-end and year-end closes, VAT returns and audit preparations. If you are tech-savvy, detail-oriented and enjoy digging into large datasets to solve problems, automate repetitive tasks and make processes more scalable, you will feel right at home here.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Transactional Accounting: Manage accounts payable, general ledger entries, payments, accruals and intercompany accounting across our Dutch and UK entities.

• Payment and Revenue Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts, payment service provider settlements and parking revenue flows across platforms.

• Closing and Reporting: Carry out month-end and year-end closing tasks, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.

• Compliance and Audit: Support VAT returns, internal reporting and statutory audit preparations.

• Process Automation: Analyse datasets and use digital tools to automate repetitive tasks and scale our finance operations.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work directly with the Senior Financial Controller, the CFO, payment providers and external advisors.

What You Bring

• Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or a related field.

• Experience: Around 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial administration or a junior financial control role.

• Core Accounting Skills: A solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, general ledger accounting, reconciliations and month-end closing processes.

• Specific Knowledge: Experience with accounts payable, payments, accruals, intercompany accounting and VAT is preferred.

• Systems and Data: Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems and large datasets; experience with Exact, Xero or similar software is a plus.

• Tech Orientation: You are tech-savvy, with a genuine interest in automation, AI and process optimisation.

• Attention to Detail: You are analytical, accurate and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of personal responsibility.

• Working Style: You are hands-on, pragmatic and proactive, able to work independently and manage competing priorities.

• Communication: You are fluent in English and comfortable working in an international environment.

• Mindset: You are curious, eager to learn and motivated to grow professionally within a fast-scaling organisation.
