Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Welding Lead to supervise a small team in daily welding and fabrication tasks. The role requires reading basic drawings, ensuring quality, and guiding others on proper welding techniques.

You will assign work, monitor progress, and maintain safety standards while ensuring efficient use of welding materials and tools on site.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid welding certificate or qualification.
• Minimum 2–3 years of welding experience, preferably with team-leading experience.
• Able to read basic welding drawings and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the welding team in daily welding and fabrication work.
• Perform hands-on welding and fabrication work together with the team.
• Assign work to welders and monitor daily progress.
• Ensure welding work is completed according to drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Check the quality of completed welding work and rectify defects when required.
• Guide and train workers on proper welding techniques and work procedures.
• Ensure welding machines, tools and equipment are properly used and maintained.
• Ensure workers follow safety rules and proper welding safety procedures.
• Monitor the usage of welding materials and minimize wastage.
• Coordinate with the supervisor regarding job requirements, progress and problems.
• Keep the work area clean, organized and safe.
• Report equipment problems, material shortages, quality issues or delays to supervisor.
• Perform other welding and fabrication duties as assigned by management.
