Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced TIG welder to perform GTAW welding on stainless steel components, weldments, and assemblies in a manufacturing setting. You will read drawings, prepare materials, and ensure weld quality in line with procedures.

Responsibilities include setting up welding equipment, performing inspections, and collaborating with Production and Quality teams to resolve issues. Preferred 1–3 years of TIG welding experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum SKM, Diploma or equivalent technical qualification.
• Valid TIG Welding Certification preferred.
• AWS/ASME or equivalent qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum 1–3 years of TIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience welding stainless steel sheet metal, tubing, and fabricated components.
• Proficient in TIG (GTAW) welding techniques.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of stainless steel welding processes and material characteristics.
• Skilled in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, and weld gauges.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications.
• Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, fitting, alignment, and joint preparation.
• Set up and operate TIG welding equipment and ensure correct welding parameters are used.
• Produce high-quality welds that meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Perform visual inspection of completed welds and identify defects requiring repair or rework.
• Carry out weld repairs as required while maintaining product quality requirements.
• Use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions and weld quality.
• Maintain welding equipment and perform routine housekeeping and basic preventive maintenance.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve welding-related issues.
