Job summary

Master Tec Wire & Cable Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Maintenance Welder to join its Plant Maintenance & Facilities team. The role focuses on structural fabrication, machine modifications, and ongoing mechanical maintenance to keep plant operations reliable.

Key duties include welding, inspection and repair of plant machinery, and rapid response to breakdowns, while complying with OSHA safety rules and 5S standards.

Qualifications

• SKM Level 2/3 in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent vocational training.
• Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on welding experience within a manufacturing or heavy industrial plant maintenance environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding, cutting, and grinding on structural steel, machine frames, piping, and others related tasks.
• Inspect, service, and repair manufacturing plant machinery, conveyors, jigs, dies, and material-handling equipment.
• Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns, troubleshooting structural wear, cracked components, and metal fatigue to minimize production downtime.
• Rebuild and modify worn metal components, machine guards, brackets, and structural frames according to engineering drawings and sketches.
• Adhere strictly to OSHA standards, factory safety regulations, hot work permit protocols, and 5S plant housekeeping standards.
