Job summary

IPS SOFTWARE SDN. BHD. is seeking a diligent software developer to build and maintain web applications, management systems and APIs for client projects in a collaborative team.

You will leverage AI tooling to assist coding, debugging, testing, and documentation while ensuring code quality and alignment with project requirements. Reading and understanding existing code and project materials, reviewing AI-generated output, and addressing bugs are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of PHP and MySQL.
• Familiarity with Laravel or CodeIgniter is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of Git, REST APIs and debugging.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools is an advantage.
• Able to read, understand and explain existing and AI-generated code.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications, business management systems and APIs for client projects.
• Use AI development tools to assist with coding, debugging, testing, documentation and problem-solving.
• Read and understand existing code, project documentation and requirements before changes.
• Review, verify and improve AI-generated code to meet project requirements and standards.
• Investigate bugs, identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Develop and integrate APIs and third-party services.
• Test new features and changes, including impact on existing functionality.
• Follow project workflows including Git, code reviews and documentation.
• Communicate progress and issues clearly to the team.
• Take ownership of tasks and ensure work is functional and maintainable.
• Work with team to improve development processes and AI tool usage.
• Handle client and project information responsibly when using AI tools.
