Job summary

NEC Corporation of Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. seeks a mobile application developer to design, build, and maintain Android and iOS apps. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver features, ensure quality, and explore new technologies to enhance NEC’s solutions for customers.

You will communicate with internal and external stakeholders, handle bug fixes and documentation, and contribute to ongoing improvement. Fresh graduates are welcome with a strong foundation in software development.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent field
• Fresh graduate is encouraged to apply
• Must be proficient to work with RDBMS including MS SQL and PostgreSQL
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision
• Possess a good command of English

Responsibilities

Job description

Develop and maintain mobile applications for Android and iOS mobile phone and devices.

• Collaborate with team members to define, design, deliver new features and quality management.
• Continuously research, evaluate and implement new technologies that can be applied to business application currently used by NEC’s customers.
• Identify and fix bugs to improve application performance, quality and responsiveness, as well as feature enhancement.
• Prepare technical documentation to support code development and maintenance activities.

As assigned by Section Manager and Head of Delivery and Support Services

Degree of independent decision-making:

• 50% of independent decision can be made by this position
• 50% of decision need to be rectified by Section Manager or Head of Delivery and Support Services

Level of innovation and initiative:

Medium level of innovation and initiative. The position should be able to develop information systems by designing, developing and installing software solutions. Requires evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions.

Communication / Interaction with others internally or externally:

• Communication and interaction with both internal & external stakeholder of NECoMAL.
• Discussions with internal team on issues, support and provide quality inputs, propose constructive feedback and solicit collective agreement to address gaps or process improvement.
• External parties: Clients, partners and vendors.

Education
