Job summary

IBIDEN Electronics Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Wastewater Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team in Bukit Minyak, Penang. This full-time role focuses on operation, maintenance and optimisation of wastewater treatment systems to ensure regulatory compliance and high operational standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical or Environmental Engineering degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience, proficient in reading drawings and CMMS, and capable of troubleshooting complex

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years in wastewater treatment or industrial maintenance.
• Sound knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and Malaysia environmental regulations.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
• Experience with CMMS and monitoring systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; capable of working independently and in a team.
• Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia is helpful.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and servicing of wastewater treatment equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Monitor wastewater quality parameters and treatment processes, recording data and preparing reports for regulatory compliance.
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues, implementing corrective actions promptly.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities including cleaning, lubrication, calibration, and component replacement.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialised maintenance and repairs as required.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and company policies relating to wastewater management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance wastewater treatment efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior maintenance staff on proper procedures and safety protocols.
• Respond to emergency situations and equipment failures, implementing timely solutions to minimise downtime.
