Job summary

Prinx Tire (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Wastewater Compliance Engineer to ensure DOE regulatory adherence for the plant-wide wastewater system.

You will monitor water quality, manage third-party testing, and prepare environmental reports in MyPremis, while maintaining regulatory documentation and coordinating with authorities and laboratories. You will operate daily wastewater treatment units, adjust dosing and aeration, and drive cost-reduction through process upgrades and SOP development.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in wastewater/environmental roles.
• CEPIETSO-BP certification; PCP certification advantageous.
• Knowledge of Malaysian EQA 1974, DOE discharge standards, and MyPremis reporting system.
• Understanding of coagulation/sedimentation, activated sludge, anaerobic/aerobic systems, and sludge dewatering.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Malaysian DOE wastewater regulations and standards; manage plant-wide wastewater compliance activities; monitor water quality and self-test; coordinate annual third-party testing; prepare environmental reports in MyPremis; maintain records; support DOE inspections; implement corrective actions.
• Operate daily wastewater treatment facilities including pretreatment, biological, sedimentation, and advanced treatment systems.
• Adjust chemical dosing, aeration, and sludge return flow based on wastewater loading.
• Maintain control of COD, BOD, and NH3-N; monitor water quality continuously; investigate abnormalities and take corrective actions.
• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot wastewater equipment (pumps, blowers, dosing, filter presses, pipelines).
• Keep maintenance, chemical consumption, and sludge disposal records up to date.
• Optimize chemical dosing and equipment operation to cut energy, chemical use, and sludge costs.
• Identify environmental risks (overflow, leaks, storage) and ensure corrective actions are tracked to closure.
• Lead wastewater improvement projects focusing on process optimization, water conservation, and cost reduction; support ISO 14001 audits.
• Coordinate with DOE, third-party labs, and regulatory inspectors; prepare compliance documents.
