Job summary

Meritar Supply Chain Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Quality & Safety Engineer to ensure warehouse operations meet customer quality requirements and comply with Malaysian safety laws.

The role covers inspections, CAPA, audits, training, and incident investigation to keep stock handling safe and compliant. You will conduct risk assessments, develop SOPs, and drive continuous improvement, working on the warehouse floor and coordinating with operations and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in quality or safety in a warehouse/logistics/manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1994 and quality management principles (ISO 9001, 5-Why, 8D).
• Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) or OSH-related certification is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality procedures, SOPs and work instructions for receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
• Carry out and oversee incoming and outgoing inspections to verify part identity, quantity, condition and packaging against customer requirements.
• Record and investigate non-conformances, stock discrepancies and damage; lead root cause analysis and drive CAPA to closure.
• Handle customer quality complaints and feedback and prepare timely written responses and improvement reports.
• Monitor quality KPIs and report trends to management.
• Plan and conduct internal audits (5S, process and document audits) and support customer and third-party audits.
• Support OSH compliance, act as OSH Coordinator or assist in appointment of OSH personnel as required by law.
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRARC) for warehouse activities and develop safe work procedures and emergency plan.
