Job summary

SHAHJEE RESOURCES ENTERPRISE in Putrajaya is seeking an experienced Waiter to join our hospitality team full-time. You will deliver exceptional dining experiences, take orders, serve meals and drinks, and ensure guests have a memorable visit.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Waiter or in a similar waiting staff role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with guests.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while staying calm.
• Attention to detail and high standards of service and cleanliness.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and carry trays.
• Reliable, punctual and customer-focused.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Food hygiene or hospitality qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests promptly and courteously, ensuring a warm welcome upon arrival.
• Present menus and provide knowledgeable recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
• Serve food and drinks in a timely, professional manner whilst maintaining high standards of presentation.
• Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction with their meals and address any concerns promptly.
• Process payments and handle cash or card transactions with accuracy.
• Clear tables efficiently and reset them for the next service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including side stations.
• Collaborate with kitchen, bar and housekeeping staff to ensure smooth service operations.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene and health and safety regulations at all times.
• Handle special requests or complaints professionally and elevate issues when necessary.

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry trays and service items
• Reliability and punctuality with a positive, customer-focused attitude
• Basic numeracy skills for handling payments and processing transactions
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
• A valid food hygiene or hospitality qualification would be advantageous
