Job summary

VAT GROUP is seeking a strategic Production Team Leader for our Vulcanisation Department in Batu Kawan, Malaysia. This permanent role focuses on establishing a structured production management system to drive quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery.

You will lead day-to-day operations, implement Lean practices, plan capacity, and coach the production team to meet demanding standards while maintaining a safe, clean working environment. English communication with global teams is essential.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Engineering is required.
• 5-8 years in rubber/plastics industry (O-Ring or seals) preferred.
• Strong background in elastomer moulding and Lean Production.
• Demonstrated leadership and change-management abilities.
• Excellent English communication for global collaboration.
• Familiarity with mould making in plastics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations to ensure on-time, in-full production within cost targets.
• Define and consolidate the process landscape; implement Lean to optimize workflows and layouts.
• Perform long-term machine capacity planning and manpower forecasting.
• Maintain high quality and cleanliness meeting VAT/customer specifications.
• Recruit, coach, and train the production team with adherence to inspections.
• Recommend and initiate improvements to work instructions, equipment, and processes to maximize yield and minimize wastage.
