Job summary

2201 United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is seeking a Relationship Manager to manage a portfolio of high-net-worth clients. You will actively cross-sell banking products, provide tailored financial advice and review client portfolios to meet objectives.

You will engage with clients to understand risk, financial goals and preferences, while collaborating with product, credit and operations teams to deliver exceptional service and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Admin, Economics or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in relationship management in banking/financial services.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building client relationships.
• Strong understanding of banking products, financial markets and investments.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Integrity, professionalism and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing clients, identifying opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling banking products and services.
• Proactively engage with clients to understand their financial objectives, risk appetite, and investment preferences.
• Provide comprehensive financial advice and solutions, including but not limited to deposits, loans, investments, insurance, and wealth management products.
• Conduct regular reviews of client portfolios and financial situations, recommending adjustments as needed.
• Acquire new high-net-worth clients through networking, referrals, and other business development activities.
• Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product specialists, credit teams, and operations, to deliver seamless client service.
• Prepare and present financial proposals, reports, and presentations to clients.
• Stay updated on market trends, economic developments, and competitor activities to provide informed advice.
• Resolve client inquiries and issues efficiently and professionally.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., FIMM, CMSRL) will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in relationship management within the banking or financial services industry, preferably with a focus on retail or preferred banking segments.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong client relationships.
• Excellent understanding of banking products, financial markets, and investment principles.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to understand client needs and provide tailored financial solutions.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required. Proficiency in other languages (e.g., Mandarin) is a plus.
