2201 United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is seeking an AML Assurance - Data Analyst to leverage data analytics to strengthen the AML assurance framework. You will scrutinize transaction data, identify suspicious patterns, and contribute to continuous improvement of AML controls.

You will develop analytics solutions for transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, and suspicious activity reporting; create dashboards and reports; and collaborate with AML compliance, risk management, and IT

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or related area.
  • 2–4 years of data analysis experience, preferably in financial services with AML exposure.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau/Power BI/QlikView.
  • Strong statistical analysis capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Python or R is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of AML/CFT regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data analytics solutions to support AML activities, including transaction monitoring and due diligence.
  • Extract, transform, and load large datasets from various sources while ensuring data integrity.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of financial crime data to identify trends, anomalies, and AML risks.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with AML compliance, risk management, and IT teams to translate requirements into data solutions.
  • Assist in the development and calibration of AML detection scenarios and rules.
  • Conduct validation and testing of AML systems and models for regulatory compliance.
  • Document data methodologies, processes, and findings clearly and comprehensively.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in AML and data analytics.

Job Summary

As an AML Assurance - Data Analyst at United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd, you will be responsible for leveraging data analytics to enhance the effectiveness of our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) assurance framework. Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the financial services sector, with exposure to AML or financial crime compliance.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experienced with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R for data analysis is a significant advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of AML/CFT regulations and guidelines will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical audiences and stakeholders.
