Job summary

Muara Arts in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a friendly front-of-house team member to welcome visitors, process ticket sales and provide information. You will be the first point of contact, ensuring guests have a positive experience from arrival to departure.

Responsibilities include selling tickets, handling enquiries in person, by phone and email, promoting events and memberships, and keeping the reception area tidy and inviting at all times. Prior cashier or hospitality experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong guest-facing communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with POS systems and handling payments.
• Calm, resilient under pressure with a friendly demeanour.
• Good general IT skills and computer literacy.
• Previous cashier, hospitality, or retail customer service experience preferred.
• Interest in contemporary art and museums is advantageous.

Responsibilities

You will play a key role in creating a welcoming experience - processing ticket sales, handling enquiries, and ensuring every guest feels informed and looked after from the moment they arrive.

• Welcome all visitors and provide friendly, helpful information, handling enquiries in person, by telephone, and via email
• Sell tickets, take bookings, and capture customer information using a computerised booking system
• Operate the POS system to process daily ticket transactions accurately
• Promote membership schemes, upcoming events, and programmes to visitors
• Service and maintain locker room facilities for guests
• Ensure the foyer and reception counter area remain clean, tidy, and presentable at all times

What we are looking for

• Strong communication and customer care skills
• Familiarity with POS systems and handling payment transactions
• Ability to stay composed and effective under pressure
• Good general IT skills
• Previous experience in cashier, hospitality, or retail customer service roles is an advantage
• A genuine interest in contemporary art
