Job summary

AJ Ocean Ventures is seeking a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist/Groomer to support veterinarians with examinations, treatments and procedures across cats, dogs and pocket pets. You will prepare examination rooms, maintain a clean, organised clinic, and provide compassionate care.

This role also covers front desk duties, appointment scheduling, client communication, and patient record keeping. Training will be provided, and overtime work may be required; weekend and public holiday shifts may

Qualifications

• No experience required; training will be provided.
• Willing to work weekends and selected public holidays.
• Comfortable with cleaning cages, handling waste, and assisting during procedures.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Preparing examination rooms and maintaining a clean, organised work environment.
• Handling and restraining animals during procedures as directed by the veterinarian.
• Collecting and processing samples (eg blood, urine, feces) for laboratory testing.
• Providing compassionate care and attention to every animal entrusted to us.
• Managing front desk duties eg appointment scheduling and client communication.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and inventory of medical supplies.
