Job summary

Texas Instruments in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is seeking a skilled Equipment Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades and installation on turret equipment across the fab. You will interface with engineering and manufacturing to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and motion-related issues, drive improvements in uptime, MTBF and MTTR, and minimize downtime.

This role requires a Diploma in electrical, electronic or mechanical fields and 3–5 years of semiconductor manufacturing

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an equipment technician in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to turret/test equipment will be an added advantage.
• Diploma in electrical, electronic, mechanical, or any relevant fields.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on turret equipment to ensure reliability, availability, and optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and motion-related issues on turret systems and identify root causes of repetitive equipment failures.
• Monitor equipment performance, downtime, alarms, and maintenance data to drive continuous improvement in uptime and MTBF/MTTR.
• Execute equipment recovery and repair activities to minimize downtime and restore tools to production within the required timeframe.
• Perform equipment setup, calibration, adjustment, and component replacement while ensuring equipment meets process and operational requirements.
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve turret equipment-related issues and implement preventive actions to avoid recurring failures.
• Support equipment improvement projects, upgrades, and modifications to enhance turret equipment reliability, performance, and maintainability.
