Job summary

TG Malaysia is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager / Tooling Manager to lead tooling and mold engineering activities, oversee toolroom operations, and drive continuous improvement. The role involves coordinating with suppliers, production, quality, and purchasing while managing budgets, timelines, and technical approvals.

The candidate should bring 5–10 years in tooling and mold engineering, strong leadership, and proficiency with SolidWorks and 2D/3D drawings.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field required.
• 5–10 years of tooling, mold engineering, tool fabrication, maintenance or repair experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mold/tool design and fabrication required.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and able to read 2D/3D engineering drawings.
• Experience with DFM, tooling costing and supplier management.
• Experience in toolroom or machine shop management preferred.
• Die casting / die-casting mold experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead tooling and mold engineering activities, including DFM, mold design, fabrication, trial, repair and improvement.
• Manage tooling projects, timelines, costs and deliverables.
• Review RFQs, tooling quotations and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with toolmakers, suppliers, Production, Quality and Purchasing teams.
• Manage toolroom / machine shop operations, including equipment, manpower and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot tooling and production issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead and develop the tooling / engineering team.
• Support new product development and production engineering activities.
• Exercise relevant purchasing and technical approval authority.
