Job summary

GECO Asia Pte. Ltd. in Malaysia seeks a color specialist to develop and match textile colors per customer requirements and standards.

You will prepare lab dips, color swatches, and dyeing trials, adjusting formulations to achieve precise color accuracy and monitoring the dyeing process for consistency. You will evaluate colors using light boxes and spectrophotometers, troubleshoot discrepancies, and collaborate with Production, QA/QC, R&D, and Merchandising to resolve color issues.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Textile, Color Chemistry, Chemistry, or related field.
• Experience in textile dyeing or color matching is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of dyeing processes, color theory, and textile materials.
• Familiar with spectrophotometer and color-matching systems.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work in a factory/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and match textile colors according to customer requirements, color standards, and approved samples.
• Prepare and conduct lab dips, color swatches, and dyeing trials.
• Adjust dye formulations and recipes to achieve the required color accuracy.
• Monitor and control the dyeing process to ensure consistent color quality.
• Conduct color evaluation using light boxes, spectrophotometers, and other color-matching equipment.
• Troubleshoot color discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Work closely with Production, QA/QC, R&D, and Merchandising teams to resolve color-related issues.
• Maintain accurate records of color recipes, dye formulations, test results, and approved standards.
• Ensure colors meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
• Assist in developing new colors and improving existing dyeing processes.
