Job summary

We are seeking a Chemist to join our textile manufacturing team in Johor Bahru. You will prepare chemical formulations, test samples, and perform colour shade matching to meet customer specs, ensuring colour accuracy and product quality.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Chemistry or Textile Chemistry, with prior lab testing or colour matching experience being advantageous. You will work closely with production to optimise formulations and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Experience in laboratory testing, colour matching, or textile chemical applications is an advantage.
• Ability to analyse samples, troubleshoot colour variations, and adjust chemical formulations accordingly.
• Responsible, organised, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing chemical formulations and conducting laboratory tests to achieve the required colour shades
• Analysing colour samples and adjusting formulations to match target shades accurately
• Performing shade matching and colour consistency checks against customer requirements and approved standards
• Developing and optimising chemical formulations to achieve the desired colour and finishing results
• Conducting sample testing and analysis to ensure product quality and consistency
• Maintaining laboratory records, test results, and chemical formulations
• Troubleshooting colour discrepancies and recommending corrective actions
• Working closely with the production team to ensure colour accuracy and consistency during production
