Job description

  • Establish and lead the Technology Obsolescence Task Force, comprising application, infrastructure, security, architecture, procurement, and finance stakeholders
  • Define task force scope, success criteria, timelines, and governance
  • Ensure rapid issue resolution, escalation, and decision-making
Obsolescence Identification & Assessment.
  • Conduct accelerated assessments to identify end-of-life (EOL), end-of-support (EOS), and obsolete technologies
  • Classify obsolescence risks by severity, business impact, and urgency
  • Evaluate operational, security, compliance, and financial risks
Remediation Planning & Execution.
  • Develop prioritized remediation action plans (upgrade, replace, migrate, isolate, or decommission)
  • Drive execution of critical remediation initiatives within agreed timelines
  • Coordinate dependencies across teams to avoid delivery blockers
  • Track execution progress and intervene where delays or risks emerge
  • Act as the single point of accountability for obsolescence-related risks within the task force scope
  • Communicate risk posture, trade-offs, and remediation status to senior stakeholders
  • Facilitate informed decisions where technical, cost, or timing constraints exist
Governance, Reporting & Closure.
  • Define task force metrics, dashboards, and reporting cadence
  • Provide regular status updates to steering committees or executive sponsors
Job Requirement
Technical & Domain Expertise
  • Strong experience in technology lifecycle management, obsolescence management, and technical debt remediation.
  • Hands‑on experience with CMDB (Configuration Management Database) governance, asset inventory management, and technology dependency mapping.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure environments, including servers, operating systems, databases, middleware, networks, cloud platforms, and end‑user computing technologies.
  • Experience leveraging ORSA (Operational Risk and Self‑Assessment) frameworks, risk registers, and control assessments to identify, assess, and mitigate technology obsolescence risks.
  • Broad understanding of infrastructure, platforms, applications, and vendor support lifecycle models, including End‑of‑Life (EOL) and End‑of‑Support (EOS) management.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity, regulatory, audit, and operational risk implications associated with obsolete technologies.
  • Ability to assess technology risk exposure and prioritize remediation activities based on business criticality, operational impact, and regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Delivery Experience
  • 10-12+ years of experience in IT leadership, infrastructure management, technology risk, architecture, or enterprise program delivery roles.
  • Proven experience leading cross‑functional remediation programs, technology refresh initiatives, infrastructure modernization efforts, or crisis response task forces.
  • Strong execution mindset with the ability to drive outcomes under tight timelines and elevated risk conditions.
  • Experience managing senior stakeholder governance, reporting, and risk escalation processes.
Stakeholder & Communication Skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across Infrastructure, Application Development, Security, Risk, Architecture, Operations, and Business teams without formal authority.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to translate complex technology obsolescence risks into clear business impacts and actionable remediation plans.
  • Experience presenting technology risk posture, ORSA findings, and remediation progress to senior management, risk committees, and auditors.
