Job summary

A semiconductor company in Kulim, Malaysia, is seeking an Equipment Technician to operate and maintain advanced semiconductor equipment. The role involves hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, requiring a background in Mechanical or Electrical engineering. Fresh graduates with a strong interest are encouraged to apply. Must be willing to work rotating shifts in a cleanroom environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years relevant working experience.
  • Fresh graduates with strong interest in hardware hand-on activities will be considered.
  • Must be able to work in 12 hours rotating shift in a cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain and control advanced semiconductor equipment.
  • To achieve the lowest manufacturing cost per wafer.
  • To participate in team oriented continuous improvement.
  • To maximize yield, reduce cycle time and increase productivity.
  • To ensure the daily production target is met.
  • To ensure safety, housekeeping and discipline in the FAB is followed. Perform daily tool QUAL.
  • Execute SERI and TEI. ILP disposition.
Failure Analysis
  • To prepare sample, perform analysis and provide timely data to requestor.
  • To maintain the FA equipment in good working conditions, ensure FA lab is in compliance with safety requirements and in good housekeeping.
  • To feedback to supervisor on improved analysis procedures for implementation.
  • To provide hands-on training to FA technicians on FA equipment operation and FA techniques.
Equipment Technician - Diffusion
  • To maintain equipment functionalities in Diffusion module, by performing scheduled periodic preventive maintenance jobs.
  • Carry out activities/projects to upkeep/improve tool performance, maintaining module 5S, handling quartz that includes cleaning and storing.
  • Supporting manufacturing by working on targeted Tool Availability, to achieve module and company goals.
  • Knows how to use hand tools and multimeters. Able to read schematic diagrams for gas/pneumatic and electrical/electronic system will be an advantage.
  • Hands on experience on furnaces PM or troubleshooting.
Equipment Technician - CIM
  • Assist the automation engineer in the installation, improvement, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of automation-related tools such as AMHS, sorters, stockers, SMIF pods, and RFID systems.
  • Provide immediate support for the repair, recovery, and troubleshooting of automation tool breakdowns, ensuring they operate at high performance.
  • Ensure that automation tools are maintained in good and safe operating condition.
  • Provide 24/7 support for ad-hoc requests and shift coverage.
  • Collect equipment from Module and send equipment out to external Calibration lab including raise OSR, raise PR, request quotation from service provider and verify equipment functionality after calibration.
  • Manage MSA database including register metrology tool, create job at Xsite and alert equipment owner for MSA study.
  • Provide Calibration and MSA report to engineer.
  • Support CFM for airborne particle count measurement and ESD verification.
  • Basic electronic and instrumentation knowledge.
  • Able to communicate with all levels.
  • Auditing and issue NCR for non-compliance.
  • Prepare reports.
OQA, Inspection and Related Activities
  • To execute OQA inspection and administration for outgoing wafers prior to shipment.
  • To update daily outgoing wafer inspection report, maintain Etest summary, wafer map, etc.
  • To ensure continuous support to daily wafer fab out and wafer quality.
  • To highlight or escalate OQA defects that exceed DPPM/WRR% or identify new defects.
  • Sustain SDL compliance and meet lot cycle time.
  • To support visual inspection for incoming wafers.
  • To support visual inspection for obsolete Reticles.
  • To do line troubleshooting related to OQA defects.
