Job summary

Alcon in Malaysia seeks a Technician II, Repair & Maintenance Engineering, to plan, design and implement maintenance programs for facilities and equipment across production lines. You will collaborate with production staff and ensure procedures are followed to minimize downtime and maintain quality.

The role open to Diploma graduates in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with preferred machine troubleshooting experience, and willingness to work 12-hour rotational shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical/electrical technician role is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement maintenance programs for facilities and equipment.
• Provide engineering support to production and ensure SOPs are followed.
• Maintain PM records and ensure 24/7 support as required.
• Coordinate spare parts and support machine setup and repairs.
• Assist engineers with documentation and project execution.
• Promote effective shift handovers and startup meetings.
• Investigate process/quality failures and implement permanent fixes.
• Participate in new machine installation and validation.

The Technician II, Repair & Maintenance Engineering, is primarily responsible for handling complex technical tasks in planning, designing, and implementing maintenance programs for facilities and equipment. You will be expected to build effective and meaningful relationships with production staff and ensure adherence to procedures.

Job responsibilities

• Execute an effective PM activities. Ensure Finishing Production equipment and system achieves minimum machine downtime (production equipment, Lab instrument or equipment and QC instrument) and minimum NCR. Provide engineering support to other functions as and when is required.
• Ensure correct SOPs and forms are used to perform planned activities. Need to have good GDP of documentation. Ensure updated release documents is used for PM activities and in validated state.
• Ensure all PM records are properly recorded and kept. Ensure 24/7 round the clock support is provided to production.
• Monitor Spare Part and work closely with spare part room to ensure sufficient part available.
• Assist Engineer in cost reduction, cost saving, machine set-up and improve efficiency of PM and machines repairs time.
• Participate in new machine equipment installation and validation program.
• Provide support for Engineers in terms of documentation and job execution.
• Promote effective communication with peers across all shifts and ensure efficient shift hand-over and effective startup meeting.
• To support the investigation of the process and quality failure resulted from equipment/ process related problem and provide permanent solution to fix them.

• Participate extensively in the business development such as new project initiative by actively participating as project lead, project support or project executors.

Minimum requirement

• Open for Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering fresh graduates
• Candidate with mechanical/electrical technician experience will be an added advantage
• Good to have machine troubleshooting experience
• Able to read analytical diagram
• Open to work 12 hour rotational shift
