Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Desaru Coast is seeking a General Technician to join our Engineering team. You will be responsible for a broad range of maintenance tasks to ensure safe, smooth operation of facilities and systems in a luxury hospitality environment.

With 2–3 years of relevant experience, you will read technical drawings, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with installations. The role requires physical fitness and a collaborative approach to keeping the property in peak condition.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of relevant working experience.
• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
• Basic knowledge in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Physically fit and able to handle tools and equipment.
• Able to work independently with good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair tasks such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Monitor and inspect equipment to identify potential problems.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in maintenance areas.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
• Assist in setting up or dismantling equipment or facilities for events, renovations, or moves.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately.
• Comply with company safety and health regulations at all times.
• Support other departments with ad hoc maintenance-related tasks.

About The Job

The General Technician is responsible for carrying out a variety of technical and maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth and safe operation of equipment, facilities, and systems within the organization. This includes routine maintenance, minor repairs, and assisting with installations and inspections.

As a General Technician, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Perform general maintenance and repair tasks such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Monitor and inspect equipment to identify potential problems.
