Job summary

Megah Equipment Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Technician to join our technical team in Shah Alam/Johor Bahru.

The role covers servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel engines across our fleet of industrial generators, air compressors, diesel forklifts, and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, execute engine overhauls, attend on-site service calls, and maintain clear maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or SKM Level 2/3.
• 4–5 years of hands-on diesel engine maintenance and repair experience on generators, air compressors or heavy vehicles.
• Strong understanding of diesel fuel injection, cooling, air intake, electrical wiring and hydraulics.
• Valid Class D driving license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service diesel engines, generator sets, air compressors and heavy machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and fuel faults using diagnostic tools and checks.
• Perform engine overhauls, valve adjustments and component replacements.
• Attend on-site service calls at customer facilities and sites.
• Record maintenance logs and prepare service reports.

About the Role

Megah Equipment Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced and dedicated Diesel Engine Technician to join our technical team. In this role, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel engines across our fleet of industrial generator sets, air compressors, diesel forklifts, and related industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Servicing: Perform routine preventive maintenance, oil/filter changes, and inspections on diesel engines, generator sets, air compressors, and heavy machinery.
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system faults using diagnostic tools and systematic physical checks.
• Engine Overhauls: Carry out minor and major engine repairs, valve adjustments, top/bottom-end overhauls, and component replacements (injectors, turbochargers, water pumps, starter motors).
• Field & Site Service: Attend on-site service calls, breakdowns, and maintenance requests at customer facilities, construction sites, and oil & gas plants.
• Testing & Quality Checks: Conduct load tests and operational testing on reconditioned and rented diesel equipment prior to delivery.
• Documentation: Keep clear records of maintenance logs, parts replaced, and service reports.
