Job description

Equipment Maintenance Technician

As an Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining specific tools on a media manufacturing production line. The successful candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and collaborate effectively; they will demonstrate a willingness to learn, flexibility, creative problem solving, exemplary communication skills and an ability to think on their feet. Candidates must be flexible to work a 12 hour AWS Shift and overtime, as required by the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance per PM schedule. Conduct routine maintenance checks and services on all production equipment.
• Document routine preventive maintenance on PM checklists, record data if applicable and maintain completed checklist/history in tool maintenance system.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance on production machine to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
• Document routine preventive maintenance and unscheduled failures details on system database.
• Provide inputs to Shift Coordinator or Equipment Engineer to improve PM cycle‑time, tool availability, quality/workmanship, reduce media scrap and cost of ownership.
• Provide Technical training and certification for junior technician.
• Support Tool Owner and Equipment Engineer for machine conversion/upgrade and improvement projects.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.
• Working experience in manufacturing environment (especially in vacuum chamber system) is required.
• Working experiences in Sputtering or machine maintenance related field would be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of control systems and/or PLC (Process Logic Control) would be an added advantage.
• Knowledge in using measurement tools such as multi meters, oscilloscope, etc.
• Knowledge in study schematic diagram (circuit diagram) working on system troubleshooting.
• Understanding of failure mechanisms, ability to isolate determine root cause and repair.
• Proficient in MS Windows Software (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook) & Forum Notes.
• Effective team player with proven relationship building & communication skills, including cross-functionally with Production, Process, Yield, and Quality.
