Job summary

WD is building the infrastructure behind the AI-driven data economy in Malaysia. This IT support role focuses on the complete lifecycle of computer infrastructure management.

You will install and configure hardware, software, systems, networks and peripherals, and provide proactive support to end-users by phone or on-site.

Required: Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent and willingness to do shift work; 1–2 years’ related experience; manufacturing exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Computer Science, IT, CT, Engineering or equivalent.
• Shift work required.
• 1–2 years experience in IT/Hardware.

Job Description

This IT support role focuses on the complete lifecycle of computer infrastructure management. The position involves installing and configuring hardware, software, systems, networks, and peripherals, along with ongoing monitoring and maintenance of these systems. The core responsibility is providing responsive technical support to end-users through both remote phone assistance and on-site troubleshooting. This is a hands-on technical support position that requires proactive system management and reactive problem-solving to maintain smooth IT operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and peripherals
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
• Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
• Providing technical support for computing scope by phone or physical touch
• Repairing and replacing computer hardware as necessary

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Technology, Computer/Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent
• Shift work required.

PREFERRED:

• Minimum 1-2 years working experience in the related field
• Preferably entry-level, specialized in IT/Computer Hardware or equivalent
• Experience in the manufacturing industry will be an added advantage

SKILLS:

Good knowledge of IT, computer, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
