Job summary

Cohu Malaysia is seeking a sourcing professional to manage fabrication parts, modules and standard components, aligning supplier strategies with Purchasing and ensuring material demand is met. Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with purchasing, engineering or procurement engineering with capital equipment desired.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing for Fabrication Parts, Modules, Standard Components and Indirect Material.
• Negotiate with suppliers for best cost and zero quality issues.
• Consolidate cost savings and provide reporting for area of responsibility.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Quality for quarterly supplier reviews.
• Update and maintain Purchasing Info Records and Source lists based on quality, cost and delivery criteria.
• Support Purchaser for critical negotiations & lead-time.
• Focus on reducing lead time and ensuring supplier compliance on material and finish goods availability.
• Support Zero Defect Program across Cohu.
• Handle ad hoc assignments according to business needs.

We are seeking a Sourcing professional with experience in material sourcing, supplier management, cost negotiation, and supply chain coordination.

This role will focus on sourcing fabrication parts, standard components, and modules for Cohu products, aligning supplier strategies with Purchasing, and ensuring material demand is effectively managed based on supplier capabilities. The position will also drive continuous cost reduction, supplier performance, and Zero Defect initiatives while working closely with cross-functional teams to support business and supply chain objectives.

Impact You Will Make:

Demand Management

• oSourcing on new commodity code accordingly: Fabrication Parts, Modules, Standard Components and Indirect Material.
• oPerform regular market watch and internal needs analysis and find new supplier if required.
• oNegotiate with approved supplier for best cost and zero quality issue.
• oConsolidate cost savings and provide reporting for area of responsibility.

Supplier Relationship Management

• oWork in collaboration with supplier on defined improvement projects, product family analysis for long-term supply partnership.

Supplier Evaluation (Business Review)

• oCollaborate with Purchasing and Quality Department for preparation and execution of quarterly supplier review.

Supplier Database Maintenance

• oUpdate and maintain Purchasing Info Record and Source list based on theelement of quality, cost & delivery criteria.

Support Purchaser for critical negotiations & competencies on cost & lead-time.

Focus on continuous improvement on overall supply chain activities

• oDetermine ways to improve lead time.
• oEnsure supplier compliance on material and finish goods availability for contracted modules.

Support Zero Defect Program across Cohu.

Any other adhoc assignment according to business needs

Our Ideal Candidate:

Education: Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

Experience: Min of 5 years experience in purchasing, Engineering or procurement engineering with capital equipment desired.

Skills/Technical Requirements: Proficient in Excel, Powerpoint and Words. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP systems) is desired.

Strong negotiation and analytical skills required.

Must be capable of converting data into information that can be utilised to make key decisions.

Ability to work collaboratively as a cross-functional team membersbetween interdepartment.

Having machining process knowledge & able to read technical drawing .

Ability to drive and lead project
