TRIIIO VERTEX SDN. BHD. is seeking a Technical Service Engineer/Project Engineer to perform hands-on operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of water and wastewater treatment systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering as a minimum requirement.
  • Hands-on experience in water and/or wastewater treatment maintenance preferred.
  • Experience in field service, commissioning, troubleshooting, or operation of treatment systems is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of water chemistry and water quality parameters.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, equipment manuals, technical drawings, and system flow diagrams.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to conduct site visits and travel when required.
  • Good communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspection and recommend servicing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment systems.
  • Conduct site inspections and system assessments to identify operational and treatment-related issues.
  • Support testing, commissioning, start-up, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Monitor and interpret water quality parameters (pH, turbidity, TDS, conductivity, chlorine, iron, manganese, hardness).
  • Apply water chemistry knowledge to diagnose treatment problems and recommend adjustments.
  • Assist in evaluating and replacing filter media, resins, membranes, and other consumables.
  • Perform basic sizing and design calculations related to media, tank capacity, dosing, and pumps.
  • Prepare service reports, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers, operators, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct operator and customer training on operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.

About the role

A Technical Service Engineer with hands-on experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of water and wastewater treatment systems. The successful candidate should have a good understanding of both conventional and membrane-based treatment technologies, basic water chemistry, and the ability to perform basic engineering calculations for system troubleshooting, media replacement, and treatment optimization. The role will involve site visits, technical assessment, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and providing technical recommendations to customers.

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct inspection then recommend servicing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment systems.
  • Conduct site inspections and system assessments to identify operational and treatment-related issues.
  • Support the testing, commissioning, start-up, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Perform monitoring and basic interpretation of water quality parameters such as pH, turbidity, TDS, conductivity, chlorine, iron, manganese, hardness, and other relevant parameters.
  • Apply knowledge of water chemistry in diagnosing treatment problems and recommending treatment adjustments.

  • Perform basic sizing and design calculations related to filter media quantity and replacement, tank and vessel capacity, chemical dosing requirements, membrane system performance, and pump and piping requirements.
  • Prepare service reports, inspection reports, technical recommendations, and maintenance documentation.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers, operators, and subcontractors during site activities.
  • Conduct operator and customer training on the proper operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of treatment systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Preferably with hands-on experience in water and/or wastewater treatment system maintenance and servicing.
  • Experience in field service, commissioning, troubleshooting, or operation of treatment systems is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of water chemistry and water quality parameters.
  • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and interpret treatment system data.
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs, equipment manuals, technical drawings, and system flow diagrams.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to conduct site visits and field work and travel when required.
  • Good communication and report-writing skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as with a technical team.
