Job summary

Lam Research in Batu Kawan, Penang, Malaysia seeks a Technical Content Developer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will shape how logistics knowledge is delivered by creating engaging learning experiences that drive operational excellence, compliance, and workforce development.

The role requires expertise in WBT/ILT content, storyboarding, and multimedia production, using Articulate Storyline/Rise, Adobe Suite, and LMS platforms. Collaboration with SMEs and operations teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Logistics, Supply Chain, Communications, or related fields.
• 3–5 years of experience in instructional design, content development, or technical writing.
• Experience developing both WBT and ILT training content.

Responsibilities

• Create training materials, SOPs, job aids, WBT, and ILT content.
• Simplify complex logistics processes into clear learning materials.
• Ensure content accuracy and alignment with operational standards.
• Apply instructional design principles to develop effective learning solutions.
• Create storyboards, scripts, and training frameworks.
• Partner with SMEs and trainers to validate content.
• Develop interactive e-learning, videos, infographics, and multimedia content.
• Utilize tools such as Articulate Storyline/Rise and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ensure LMS compatibility and SCORM/xAPI compliance.
• Develop facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and presentation decks.
• Support classroom, virtual, and blended learning delivery.
• Maintain training libraries, version control, and content governance.
• Administer Journey Hub, reporting, and course updates.
• Update content to reflect process and system changes.
• Work with logistics trainers and operations teams to identify learning needs.
• Support onboarding, upskilling, and cross-training initiatives.

The Global Operations Group integrates information systems, facilities, supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing to drive efficient global operations and support Lam's profitable growth.

This is a Fixed-Term 12-months contract position.

What you’ll do

Content Development

• Create training materials, SOPs, job aids, WBT, and ILT content.
• Simplify complex logistics processes into clear, user-friendly learning materials.
• Ensure content accuracy and alignment with operational standards.

Instructional Design

• Apply instructional design principles to develop effective learning solutions.
• Create storyboards, scripts, and training frameworks.
• Partner with SMEs and trainers to validate content.
• Develop interactive e-learning, videos, infographics, and multimedia content.
• Utilize tools such as Articulate Storyline/Rise and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ensure LMS compatibility and SCORM/xAPI compliance.

Training Support

Who we’re looking for

Education & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Logistics, Supply Chain, Communications, or related fields.
• 3–5 years of experience in instructional design, content development, or technical writing.
• Experience developing both WBT and ILT training content.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Articulate Storyline/Rise, Vyond, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, and Photoshop.
• Familiar with LMS platforms such as Journey Hub, Cornerstone, or SAP SuccessFactors.
• Basic HTML/CSS and multimedia design knowledge.

Instructional Design

• Strong understanding of ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and adult learning principles.
• Skilled in creating storyboards, scripts, e-learning modules, SOPs, and job aids.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and project management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with trainers, SMEs, and operations teams.

Preferred qualifications

• Certifications:
• Train-the-Trainer (TTT)
• Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)
• Adobe Captivate Specialist or similar eLearning certification
• Experience with SCORM/xAPI standards and LMS administration.

Exposure to warehouse and logistics systems (SAP MM/WM/EWM, Oracle SCM).

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
